HOPE YOU LIKE PRAISE

REVELATION 5:9-12

REVELATION 5:9-12 NKJV
9 And they sang a new song, saying:
"You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth."
11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice:
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"

OBSERAVION:

I imagine that John's vision of heaven and God's throne was overwhelming. We certainly do not have the full picture but what is revealed is awe-inspiring.

God's throne room appears to be the opposite of a library. In a library, quiet is the norm. Around God's throne, praise prevails.

In this chapter, we see the elders giving praise to Jesus, the Lamb of God. And they also sum up the Lord's work in the earth.

He is worthy because He was slain. And by His death and His shed blood, He has purchased us back for God. The word redeem means to buy back. We were not bought with temporary things such as silver or gold but with the precious blood of Christ. Peter, in his letter, calls Jesus, a lamb without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19) This reference points back to the Mosiac law, where lambs were sacrificed to cover the sins of the people. Jesus was the sacrifice for us.

And His sacrifice covered all people and all nations. And He has made us kings and priests to God. Some translators say a kingdom of priests to our God. But any way you look at it, we've been elevated to a better position.

I hope you like praise. Heaven is filled with praise. And it's probably not quiet. Angels, living creatures, and elders around the throne, and there are many. I am not sure how the math works out, but ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands sounds like a rather large gathering.

And they are saying with a loud voice. I did not add that the scripture says loud voice. People sometimes complain that our music is too loud. Just saying.

And what beautiful words of praise. "Blessing and honor and glory and power to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever."

Hope you like praise. Apparently, heaven does. And hey, by the time we get there, we'll be so happy that differences regarding style and volume will not matter.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father to You and the Lord Jesus I give blessing and honor and glory and power. I will not wait to reach heaven to offer my praise.
