NOT BY ACCIDENT
PROVERBS 24:3
PROVERBS 24:3 NKJV
Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
OBSERVATION:
Strong households do not happen by accident. Whether a household of one or a traditional father mother household. Households also include blended families and single parents.
When the writer of the Proverbs, most likely Solomon in this case, speaks of building a house, he is not talking about a physical building.
Of course, if you are going to build a physical house, you will need wisdom. Strong physical buildings are not made with haphazard methods.
Strong families are a function of wisdom and understanding. Parents need wisdom to raise children and help them find God's plan for their lives. And parents will still need wisdom and understanding even after the children are grown and gone.
If a house represents where we live, then we can easily see the need for God's wisdom to live strong and fulfilled.
APPLICATION:
I have been amazed at how much wisdom is required to build a strong household. But God's wisdom helps us build lives that can stand even during the storms that happen to all of us.
Jesus spoke of men building houses. One built on the sand, the other on a strong foundation. When the storms hit, the one on a strong foundation stood firm.
Jesus then explained that hearing His word and putting it into practice was what enabled the one house to stand.
God's word contains God's wisdom. And God's wisdom becomes activated in our lives as we put it into practice.
It will not happen by accident, but a strong life, household, family can be built with God's wisdom and grace.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for Your wisdom. You will show me paths to walk in and build a house that is strong.
