ONE LIFE CHANGING VERSE

JOHN 8:36 NKJV

JOHN 8:36 NKJV

36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

This verse changed my life over 30 years ago.

We had moved back to Texas from a failed church plant in NC. I had taken a job with Administaff selling on a straight commission basis.

I had a young family, a mortgage. One income, and that income was not a salary. If you don't sell, you don't make any money.

I trained for a week or so with other sales people learning the product, and then went on my first sales call. Another sales rep went with me because I was so new.

Sitting in front of a prospective client, I had an anxiety attack. I broke out into a heavy sweat and could not regain my composure. I had to get up in the middle of my sales presentation and go splash cold water on my face. I was embarrassed, but even more, I was fearful. What would happen on my next sales call?

On my next call, it happened again. And then again. Sitting in a lobby waiting for my appointment, I would feel the attack coming on, and I would start sweating.

By the way, a heavy-sweating salesperson does not inspire confidence in a prospective buyer.

I was praying and asking God for help, but I can't say I was making progress. And the pressure was building.

I was sitting in a lobby one day, about to visit with a prospective client, and had a revelation. The Holy Spirit spoke that scripture to my heart. I did not hear a voice but knew it was Him, the Helper. Jesus had made me free in His redemptive work through His death, burial, and resurrection. Since He made me free, I was free indeed.

The anxiety attacks stopped. And I have never had another one! Free indeed. And God worked in my job, and I set a sales record in my first year. Blessed indeed!

One word from God is powerful. One verse can change the course of your life. And the freedom bought by Jesus is for everyone who chooses to believe on Him.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Lord. You have made me free, and I am free indeed.
